"A Chronicle of a Generation"
I am a member of the author’s generation and also happen to be born and raised in his hometown. This book is a monumental effort, I would assume both mentally, physically and emotionally. Stunning in its level of detail. I cannot possibly imagine how Sherwood remembered all the facts…people, places and things. It is easy to see how he transitioned into private investigation and education careers. He certainly is gifted for it. The book is a series of vignettes/short stories. They move along, one to the next. You are brought into the Quest. As an avid motorcyclist, I was captured at the title page. The author invites us to go for a Ride in search of truth. Throughout his life, and as he documents in the last Chapter "The Passenger", it is obvious he was always listening. He meticulously documents his own Soul Ride and that of others along the way. “Were not our heats burning within us while he talked with us on the Emmaus road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Jesus found a way to cause truth to be revealed to Sherwood throughout his life in ways that he would hear and retain. Even when he perceived only silence. Especially when he perceived only silence. Join him in the narrative of this Soul Ride.
